I do not work without a signed agreement (or at least a quote in writing, for smaller graphic design projects). Before an agreement, I will send you a quote on estimated costs and potential costs. You will agree or disagree with that quote. When you approve of the quote, I will draw up the agreement. If you back out of the agreement after acknowledging approval for the quoted cost, you will be billed an administrative cost for legal documentation preparation. That amount depends on the amount of pages that were prepared for you, because you accepted the quote. I have aptly named this policy the Sharon Bettis Policy.
All clients are required to fill out a 1099 form in conjunction with hiring MaryMakingTX to work on their project. All non-profit clients are required to provide all tax exempt paperwork upon execution of the agreement and initial payment.

  •  Payment is due upon services rendered. Clients have one business week to provide payment. For each three days the invoice is late, an 8% fee of that invoice will be added to the invoice.
  • Each week in which a payment is late will incur a late fee, which is 15% of the final payment, until a month passes.
  • Upon a month’s passing of late payment, another 15% is added to the previous; resulting in a 30% late fee.
  • If longer than 4 business weeks (one month) goes by on client deadlines, an 18% total project restart fee will be billed to the client to resume work.




MaryMakingTX official business contact hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I will not accept unscheduled phone calls lasting more than five minutes outside of those hours. If you need to have a meeting or phone call outside of those hours, please make sure to schedule them with MaryMakingTX in advance. Due to the nature of my work, I often need to spend large chunks of time during the business day to concentrate on projects. It is for this reason that you may not receive an immediate response to any emails, texts, or messages you send throughout the day. Communication is a priority of mine, and I will respond to your message as soon as I am able to.
It is highly likely that you will receive emails and other electronic messages outside these hours. Please do not feel you need to respond to those right away, as I often work outside of my official business contact hours to stay on track with client projects.


Any inquiries that use the Initial Inquiry Form to request a phone call in lieu of answering questions on this form will not be answered. It is important to the workflow of the team to use this form. After this form is completed, a follow-up phone call or meeting may be scheduled; but all initial contact is required to be completed using this form.



If your digital website and hosting management fee goes unpaid for longer than five business days, your website will be taken down and replaced with a MaryMakingTX branded splash page with details about your non-payment. When this happens, you will be notified with another copy of your overdue invoice.

I do not work with GoDaddy hosted websites. They have proved problematic in their hosting management, in their support teams, and I disagree with their company. We can arrange to transfer your hosting under my management, because odds are you are sick of them as well.


Momentum and drive are imperative to a successful project. In the beginning, we will discuss deadlines and agree upon turnaround times for client feedback. It is very important for the quality and upkeep of the project to respect these agreed upon deadlines for client feedback, photographs, and content.


It is very important that you communicate to MaryMakingTX if you are not going to meet the deadlines discussed at the beginning of your project. MaryMakingTX cannot be held to the agreed upon delivery dates if the client does not respond within the deadline terms. Failure to meet deadlines may result in rush rates being added to your project.
Agreed upon deadlines not only are important for the project, but they are important in keeping your overall project costs low. Delays in projects will incur added costs. Detailed information about additional costs resulting from timeline upsets are outlined in your agreement.

Layered files are not included with any quote, and by practice are not delivered to the client. They can be purchased upon request for additional fees.
