Bad one!: I stayed up ’till 1 and drank most of a bottle of wine. 5 hours of sleep. Fail.
Good one!: Starting the race at a semi-warmed up pace.
Good one!: Having an inspiring pace of really awesome people around you.
Good one!: Following this super inspiring old dude with “I beat cancer! Never give up!” on his homemade shirt. Huffin’ it with braces on each knee and a sweatband. Dude was completely awesome. I bet he’s a veteran. I bet that guy’s seen the whole world. Look how happy he is to be here!
Good one!: Catching up and passing inspiring old dude.
Good one!: I look really cute in pink and black from head to toe. And running for the first time with my Aggie ring.
Good one!: Microfiber socks. Holy crap.
Good one!: Guy at second water stop is an Aggie, I compliment him on his ring.
Bad one!: Guy doesn’t hear me.
Good one!: Talking to people at conversational pace during 5K.
Good one!: Seeing the finish line.
Good one!: Running a long distance in a new place with beautiful blooming trees in a regular neighborhood.
Good one!: Watching the guy I’ve been running behind the entire time stop at the finish line and hilariously crawl across it.
Good one!: Crossing the finish line.
Good one!: Looking at my average mile pace. And it’s an entire minute faster than what I usually run.
Greatest one!: The feeling afterwards of how positive the crowd is. WHERE is this in our everyday lives?
Good one: Watching the Season 4 Premiere episode of “The Office” (The 5K episode) and laughing with Carissa at it. And looking forward to BBQ.
Yup, definitely gonna look at doing a half marathon in the fall.
