Okay, so, must be darkest before dawn or something. After getting off work Friday night around 9, I high tailed it to Lockhart because Carissa totally wanted to Thump it out. So a beer, a footrub, and a five hour energy later we were on our way. We stayed around the beer garden where I checked in with three of my four baby daddies, one in uniform. Saw some of the hooker crew. Saw some old high school classmates. A lot of them were “surprised” or “shocked” that I was out at the thump.
On another note, I must have really hit a grand slam with my hair. Everyone keeps talking about how great it looks. It catches eyes, I guess. Especially the younger guy I met Friday night 🙂
Saturday brought a day of tubing that FINALLY happened for me this summer! I woke up earlier than Carissa and sort of just wasted time around her house that morning – painted my toenails, killed her blinds, watched some tv, imported my music library… And tried to make pancakes from scratch without using a recipe. Oops. They turned out “tolerable”… But gummy. Sad times. That’s okay, just an excuse to get breakfast tacos. Afterwards Carissa, older guy and I ran off to Martaindale to Don’s Fish Camp for a 4ish hour float. I put on more sunscreen than anyone and got way more burned. It was really relaxing, definitely an undiscovered tubing location that wasn’t a floating herpes nest or people soup – although I got stuck on some rocks and kind of felt like river road kill during one part.
We ended our day adventure with Lockhart BBQ and passing out watching Ghostbusters. Yay! Best nap ever, which is great, considering how much I sleep. Older guy and I then ran off to Austin to watch Cyrus. Well, way to go Mary, about three times a year I want to go see a movie I don’t really know much about; and then I’m sure I end up dissapointing the people who go with me (case in point, Revolutionary Road – that was AWFUL). Cyrus? NOT like Stepbrothers. Not very funny. Not much plot, or story. I felt like I’d just watched a two hour episode of nothing. And we don’t even know how it ends! Not fair.
Sunday was pretty relaxing. Got up, tooled around the apartment, caught up on the happenings from the Thump that I missed out on (darn!) (number/friendship? yes please!) Went to Andre’s and slept some more. Oops.
All in all a great weekend 🙂
I loved this weekend! I wish you could have been a fly on the wall/in the air to witness everything I saw on Saturday night…but the hour long retelling of it sufficed…till the next time 🙂
