Oh Texas. Texas in the fall. How I do love you so…
I love you for proximity to places like Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and all the beach cities.
I love you for state jobs, for their amazing benefits.
I love that you are NOT Atlanta.
I love you for your economy that is fairing well in today’s world.
I love you for pretty days, for winning football games.
I love you for miniature road trips across the state.
I love you for authentic bbq in most towns.
I love you for extremely talented men who know their way around a grill – in the matters of chicken, dove, ribs, brisket, tortilla soup, and more.
I love you for Aggie-owned vodka who’s owners like to give free samples to cute Aggie women and let them hang out for awhile in their tailgate booth.
I love you for Aggie-owned whiskey coming in the near future.
I love you for giving me an environment, to stand on washerboards and whisper in guys’ ears so they won’t outscore me, as we drink beer and listen to the Aggies beat Tech.
I love you for just being cold enough in October to barely wear a short skirt to Northgate as part of my Halloween costume.
I love you for amazing Texans, getting to know new ones, catching up with the old ones as we all transition into new chapters of our life – new jobs, new schools, new additions to families, new families coming together.
I love you for meeting new friends – good ones, that are Aggies.
I love you for orange beer, on Halloween night (oops, thought it was punch).
I love you for Northgate, for amazing nights (strike that, entire WEEKENDS) I’ll never forget.
I love you for meeting new men who make me forget about the three men I’ve been texting recently. We go on our first date this weekend 🙂
