Game maker Zynga just launched a new game called FrontierVille. Think FarmVille meets Oregon Trail and you’ll get the idea.The game is already playable on Facebook today, and it adds some features that FarmVille doesn’t have. You can control multiple avatars (a whole family of settlers, just like in Oregon Trail) on the same screen at the same time. Picking a spouse and raising children is an important part of the game play.You start out with “a wagon and a plot of land,” according to Zynga. From there you can work your way up to a beautiful, self-sufficient home. Along the way you’ll encounter wildlife and dynamically-changing plant life and weather. As with FarmVille, growing crops is a big part of your task, but you’ll also have to worry about your reputation and relationships with other settlers in the burgeoning frontier community.Zynga is now worth $4 billion thanks to games like this one, FarmVille, Mafia Wars, FishVille and Treasure Isle. People love to kill time at work, don’t they?
